A Wrist Strap - Gariz
So, after taking the neck strap off the GF2 and going for a quick lunchtime explore at Embankment, it became evident that I wasn’t comfortable carrying this thing ‘naked’ in my hand. Particularly on a hot day, on a bridge, over water. Just the simple security of a wrist loop, a la most compacts, would do the job. So, a quick call into the London Camera Exchange saw us fish out a suitable temporary solution from their odds and sods box, cost me £1. Does the job, but it is an Olympus and is a bit furry and not in keeping with going for something different for this new toy. Whilst I munched my sandwich, I was lead to the options of a Luigi strap (I’m not that rich, and they look too poncy), a Gordy’s leather thong thing which looked too hippy for my tastes, or something from the bay.
A quick browse of the forums lead me to Gariz. They seem to offer two options, one that is like a bolo tie and tries to hide round the lens for storage, plus it comes in a fetching cream option. The other, and another £12 purchase, is the one that becomes a finger strap - this looked too interesting not to try. Gariz is a far east concern, and don’t appear to have a website, but you’ll find stuff on EBay. Let’s see how I like it when it arrives.
